So since he was picked as VP he has sponsored legislation on social issues? Ryan's strong budget background shows his role is clear, to assist Romney with fixing the economy. If you are worried about social issues look at Romney's record. During his tenure as Governor in a BLUE state he didn't try to do anything crazy or drastic and this is how he will govern. You seem to forget that Romney is pretty center left in terms of social issues. Here is proof http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/06/17/mitt-romney-pro-life_n_879582.html Personally I believe abortion is a state's issue and not on the radar as top 10 things. |
Ryan wasn't even honest about his playlist. He said it goes from AC/DC to Zeppelin. The band's name is "Led Zeppelin". And, for a believer in American exceptionalism, he seems attached to non-American bands. What, isn't American music good enough for him?
|
I got a big laugh out of hearing that Ryan's favorite band is Rage Against the Machine. Ryan rocking out to Killing in the Name... ![]() |
Rage has come out and said that Ryan epitomizes everything they rage against. Ouch. |
Hah good one. I give you kudos for both the above findings. |
When I was younger I honestly didn't believe that I was in compton and saying fuck the police or that I was going to Fight the power. Music can be used to enjoy and relieve stress. I also didn't really believe that I was going to bust a move. |
You're also not running for vice president of the US. It's a nice bit of irony. |
If 20 years later you still told people your favorite brands are PE and NWA, people would expect you to have a better answer than "stress relief". |
I may like "Free Bird" but no way in hell am I going to tell people that my favorite band is Skynyrd. ESP. If I am running for office. |
So explain again why they are hell bent on continuing to bring it up. Why even put that in your speech other than to rile up the fundies? Why mention DOMA except to rile up the bigots? What I object to is Romney's 180 on social issues. What else will he cave in to to get money from the zealots? Man of integrity, my ass. And Ryan's an enormous flip flopper too both for mischaracterizing the $719B" as anything other than long term savings for Medicare, especially since he advocated the exact same position. Who are these assholes to preach to me about morals and integrity? |
haha true, point being is that you can listen to politically charged music that you don't relate to because it sounds good. |
+1 I was not impressed |
Nope, nobody can tell you anything specific to be angry with Obama about. I actively campaign for him, and I'm in a RED state. I try very hard to get people to give me specifics so that we can go from there and focus our conversation on their greatest concern. But they just can't do it. Plain and simple. They throw out something like "Obamacare", but when I ask what specific element of Obamacare they don't like, they just throw out another generality such as "because it's going to put me out of business." Or they try to spew something that I can debunk with a 30 second google search on my phone. I blame most of this on cable news networks. We are no longer conditioned to form our own opinions. We turn to our trusted news channel and mindlessly soak up the information they want us to hear. We let them tell us what to be outraged about and who to believe. So sad. |
2 specific examples what I don't like about obamacare. As someone who knows A LOT about medical sales Obamacare mandates a new 2.3 percent excise tax on medical devices sales (not profits). Furthermore you now have to do IRS paper work when buying lunches or making purchases over $20 for hospitals and clinics you sell to . (sounds great, but guess what it's an added cost for companies to keep records, a bunch of NEW IRS hires will need to keep track of this). This rule only applies to medical sales, all other industries are exempt. Those 2 aspects alone are costing medical device companies a lot of money. "Under the Affordable Care Act, the Obama administration's signature health care reform law, medical-device manufacturers will pay a 2.3 percent tax on sales of such products starting in 2013. That tax will affect everything from surgical tools to oxygen tanks to wheelchairs. It is one of several features of the law designed to raise money to cover the uninsured -- it's expected to raise an additional $20 billion by 2019." |
What you mean in the last 2 weeks? Of course not, congress isn't even in session. As for Romney: This is what Romney actually said in the primary debate On January 20th:
I take him at his word. Why on earth wouldn't I? Full txt here: http://www.lifenews.com/2012/01/20/republicans-spar-over-abortion-issues-in-gop-debate |
