Did he actually articulate ONE policy position? "We'll keep federal spending at 20% of GDP?". Oh, okay, and exactly HOW will you achieve that? With your magic fairy wand? Can anyone tell me that if there are actual, real, things to be angry with Obama about, why the Republican have to keep lying? Ryan criticized Obama from cutting future Medicare growth by $700 billion. Ryan's own budget had the same cuts. Ryan blamed Obama for closing a GM plant that closed in 2008 when Bush was president. Of course, an entire day of the convention was devoted to the out-of-context "you didn't build that" quote.

What does it say about Ryan and the Republicans that they have to base so much of their campaign on lies?

Oh, I hate their so called economic policy too, and their hawkish foreign policy views. But you are crazy if you don't think they would try to do everything to narrow the protections of Roe v. Wade.

If the only thing he wants to do is fix the economy, then why does he sponsor legislation on social issues?

I think you mean that he WANTS US to focus on the economy because he knows the social issues will lose them the election.

One of Obama's major (if not he primary) "change" push was based on the following, the promise of massive spending to stimulate growth and reduce unemployment to bellow 8%.

He was given over 2 years of free reign to pass whatever he wanted he chose but he used that time to pass obamacare, which the majority of America didn't want. American's wanted and continues to want more focus on recovering and fixing the economy.
