In the end, Obama could have done better. Hell, he could have done a LOT more, but he didn't.
But I'll probably end up voting for him because more tax cuts and austerity by cutting social spending will get us out of this mess. It'll just move tax money from social spending to jail/prison companies because wtf are the poor are going do when they got no support? |
Dang, proofreading ftl.
*because because more tax cuts and austerity by cutting social spending will NOT get us out of this mess. |
When the dems had controls of everything Obama didn't focus on the economy and ram rodded FAKE healthercare reform. This angered alot of people and that's why the dems no longer have control of the senate and the house. |
I think BO is doing a mostly OK job. He is not as liberal as I would like. I think the haters might not have quite as much to froth at the mouth about, cuz they wouldn't have the whole black hysteria/Africa connection to harp on. The Hilary's dick jokes would be pretty old by now. I think we are in a shittly global situation and no president can quickly manage us out of it. I think he's done well considering the fing mess he walked into. |
um, stimulus? and healthcare reform was presented in some fashion as a way to control costs. It's nice that you really think this is why the Rs are in control now, but may I ask what THEY have done about the economy? Yeah, that's right - jack shit. They don't even follow through on the things they said they would to cut government spending. But let's spend the little time they actually show up on important things, like abortion. ![]() |
Wasn't the first thing he passed economic stimulus? And didn't he compromise with the Republicans to make a big chunk of it a tax cut? Oh right, he did. I suppose we would have passed more stimulus if he wasn't busy with health care. Oh wait, the Republicans blocked that. But maybe he would have passed regulations to prevent another financial meltdown in the future. Oh wait, he did that and now the Republicans are trying to undo it. The only thing left is a tax cut. Oh wait, he did the payroll tax cut, which the Republicans tried to stop. And of course the Bush tax cuts, which have been in effect the entire time. Oh wait but maybe budget cuts would fix something. Oh wait, he cut a deal with the whackjob republicans on that, too. So what exactly did you want with this extra "focus"??? You keep bringing it up. It seems to me that lack of available time to think was not an issue. |
Reading 14:25, whose thoughts mirror my own pretty closely, it strikes me that the GOP missed a great chance to put 2012 on ice. They should have been embracing Obama instead of making those dumb attacks for things he did not do.
Then instead of reluctantly defending him, we would have followed our instincts and encouraged a liberal opponent to challenge him the way Ted Kennedy did with Carter. With his backers torn asunder, he'd have been easy prey. Thank you, GOP, for protecting us from ourselves! |
I would think Hillary would have done pretty much the same job.
I expect that foreign policy objectives are in line since she's Secy of State. She might have made some more progress on stimulus, but let's face it the Republicans have put the limit on what can be done. And given that health care reform was her dream during the Clinton years, I am sure that she would have pursued it. Could she have gotten a better deal? Dunno. But she would not have tabled it. |
He may not be "liberal" but he's just doing a bad job. Inspires little confidence. Part of the job as president is to be the greatest American cheerleader. He seems intent on making it known that we're a divided nation and to pit us against each other. It's a constant stump speech with the guy. The celebrity president. I know a number of Dems who can't wait until 2016 because they feel he's hurt a brand that Bill Clinton made very popular. Personally his huge anti business sentiment and hate of the "rich" may do him in. It's definitely not helping the economy. It's one thing to be for regulation and a lot of people in business and in Wall Street agree with some of his proposed regulations but he seems to make it a point to try and stir up the mob and pitchforks. There seems to be very little thought from this guy to try and work with business. |
quite a bit of this just seemed to describe republicans. and I am having a hard time believing YOU know all that many upset Dems. |
Keep thinking that. Typical inside Dc beltway think. People around the country really are fed up with the third Bush term. |
She sure would be running a more effective campagin,so far only the Dem's like Cory and Bill have landed the far more telling blows to Obama. Factor in the idiot D.W. Schultz running the party, ignoring the Wi recall and Romney has had a great month in spite of the Donald's reinjection of the Birthers.
A weak inept president running a terrible campagin will lose to a candidate who is even more ineffective and out of touch. Hillary would never have allowed the tea party to dominate the conversation. |
