any word on where fenty's kids will go this year?

Why was Rhee at Eaton? Is she moving her kids there from Oyster? Or was she just there in her official capacity? Perhaps she was there to inspect what is fast becoming the finest, most diverse elementary school in the city (only school with double digit white, hispanic, black, and asian populations).

Eaton is indeed one of the finest. most diverse elementary schools in the city. Rhee was visiting in her official capacity as Chancellor and has been "dropping in" unannounced at schools throughout the city.

Rather than batting this back and forth on a message board, why doesn't someone e-mail Fenty? His address is adrian.fenty@dc.gov.

That is a great idea. I sent an e-mail earlier today to the Mayor and Chancellor Rhee. Hopefully they will respond!

Where is Eaton? What are the boundaries?

A couple of blocks from the Cathedral in Cleveland Park. DCPS website has all boundary maps and on-line search engine to find your schools by entering an exact address. (Very useful for people buying houses with a priority for in-boundary. Doesn't hurt to double check.)

PP here. Just wanted to let folks know that I haven't yet received an answer from Fenty or Rhee on this question.

I honestly don't think they owe anyone an answer.

I don't need to know where they go, but considering it was part of his campaign, I do think it is appropriate for Fenty to tell his electorate if they are at public or private school. And, truth be told, if they are at private school, it makes me lose a lot of respect for the Fenty's integrity.

BTW, I really do like Fenty and Rhee and in general I am in support of the work they are both doing in the schools.

I agree with pp
If he said he was going to do it, he should...though one doesn't need to know WHICH school...

I heard Lafayette. Any truth to this?

That's what I heard but it was a long time ago...

i don't think so- i know they were not there last year, and I know people there this year and did not hear that they were there. any lafayette parents to confirm?

This is ridiculous!! How many of us have weighed our decisions back and forth about what school we would enroll our children in. Ok..so he promised it in a campaign....maybe they decided not to for this year either.

Placing their kids in DCPS has lots of implications, including the biggest is how the adults would act and treat their children differently from the other kids. If the Mayor chose Oyster, Murch, or Eaton...there would be backlash...or oh I guess he should put his kids in Powell to make a political point!!...please!!!....pp's discussed that Crestwood neighbors dont even put their kids in Powell.

Whatever decision they made - it is theirs to make - as a family - and yes! it should be off-limits.

Oh no PP! Its not that easy. He made a PROMISE to the people of WDC. HE made it part of his CAMPAIGN. Nobody MADE him do it. He PROMISED. He has to answer to if he followed through or not. The people of WDC who voted for him DFESERVE an answer on this one. A promise for political gain should ALWAYS hold accountability.
