Sunday Brunch Dress

15:12. I think jersey knit dresses are perhaps the most cheap/unflattering pieces of clothing ever. I am 5'8" and 120 lbs and if I gained 10 lbs you would see it in jersey knit

I was thinking Jaleo with friends (I have been invited to a "ladies" brunch and begged off because I knew I had NOTHING to wear and no time to sort it out in time). My other thought was going out with DH (Jaleo's, Redwood , whatever). I usually wear flats to work, standard cardigans and slacks. Nothing exciting but wanted a more grown up look without looking like I was trying too hard.

OK -- for the ladies brunch: nice bootcut jeans with a pretty David Cline tee: 3/4 sleeves, v-neck in a nice, soft cotton that's not too thin, a snakeskin print with pale green, lavender and grey, silver hoops, grey wedges (I need the added height) and 3 silver bangles, a metallic tote

for brunch with DH: white ruched skirt with side zip, another David Cline tee with a charcoal and white giraffe print, silver hoops dangly turquoise earrings, grey wedges, same tote

And, BTW, we always love the food at Jaleo and are always underwhelmed by Redwood. Have fun @ brunch, OP!

Anonymous wrote:Yeah, that one is not quite a sheath dress- it's also button up the front, so it's almost more like a shirtdress, but way fancier. I like the dress a lot, great color, and I do think it could work with more neutral accessories. Don't want to up the flash of an already flashy dress. Simple, thin belt, nude shoes, discrete jewelry and I think it would be cute.

ANn Taylor has a LOT of dresses that I think might work right now. Check them out. Maybe a little too floral, but I walked by the store in Tysons, having already read this thread, and thought now those are brunch dresses. But maybe more like Mother's Day brunch dresses.

i looked into the Ann Taylor dresses and I definetly like them. Thanks

How is this not too sexy? It's short and the back dips down fairly far. Cute pattern though and I would buy it! Just consider it fairly skimpy.

You skipped a brunch invitation because you didn't have anything to wear? You've blown my mind.
