| Any recomendations for a nice grown up summer dress. I am thinking something that would work for Sunday Brunch. Thanks! |
|
OP here: I just figured out what the dresses I meant are called: Sheath dresses!! I have seen so many nice ones lately but have no idea where people get them from. Would this be too much for Sunday Brunch?

That looks way too fancy for a brunch to me. And the belt they picture with it is horrific! But the dress itself is cute.
For Sunday brunch I think something breezy and more casual, like Anthropologie, maybe J.Crew, or a maxi dress. |
| I didnt even notice the brown belt and yes, it is horrid..... I'll look into J Crew Maxi dresses. Maybe Nordstrom will have something too? |
| Brunch where and with whom? At the neighbors on the screened porch? At a hotel with your visiting aunts? At Jackie's with DH? At Jaleo with your girlfriends? (In any case, the dress you linked to is not a great choice.) |
| I cannot believe there is such a thing as a "sunday brunch dress" (as proven by your link). Wow. Rich People Problems. |
Trashy!

hahahaha I am new to this trying to be a grown up business. Guess real housewives isn't a good model. So do you have a non trashy version? Even though this was my "trashy" pick your response made me giggle... Oh, well, Back to the drawing board..

Yes, it most definetly is... hence, I have no idea what I am doing becuase I grew up po' (not poor but really poor = po')

I was thinking Jaleo with friends (I have been invited to a "ladies" brunch and begged off because I knew I had NOTHING to wear and no time to sort it out in time). My other thought was going out with DH (Jaleo's, Redwood , whatever). I usually wear flats to work, standard cardigans and slacks. Nothing exciting but wanted a more grown up look without looking like I was trying too hard. |

| Honestly I just bought a few dresses from target.com...They have simple (but nice) cotton dresses that are easy to take care of and comfortable. |
That is not a sheath dress. That is a party dress. A sheath dress usually has a straight skirt. |
|
Yeah, that one is not quite a sheath dress- it's also button up the front, so it's almost more like a shirtdress, but way fancier. I like the dress a lot, great color, and I do think it could work with more neutral accessories. Don't want to up the flash of an already flashy dress. Simple, thin belt, nude shoes, discrete jewelry and I think it would be cute.
ANn Taylor has a LOT of dresses that I think might work right now. Check them out. Maybe a little too floral, but I walked by the store in Tysons, having already read this thread, and thought now those are brunch dresses. But maybe more like Mother's Day brunch dresses. |

I am more a shift dress girl these days for brunch. Nothing too sexy for brunch
