FWIW, I'm someone who takes a very long time to make friends, and when I do make them, I don't like to let go of them. But the clock on some friendships runs out, and when that happens, there's nothing you can do, but say to yourself, it was fun while it lasted, feel sad for a little while, and then move on with your life.

I'm wavering between thinking you're a whack job and sympathizing because a psycho woman inserted herself into my social group a while back. I let it go and one by one she alienated everyone, ending with a huge flameout where she emailed the remaining people who tolerated her that she was "concerned" that the main person she had originally latched on to was a meth addict (not the least bit true).
