Except, from what we've seen lately, Republicans truly are stupid. I'm not sure this is a controversial or even an offensive statement.

Offensive? The positively revel in it. It's part of election strategy - anti-intellectualism, we ain't no coddled Eye-vee Leaguers (well, except for the probable nominee, anyway). It's a badge of honor.

Whether you agree with the sentiment or not, a teacher who would say something like this should not be a teacher. She has no idea what political party the parents may belong to and it is NOT her business to be criticizing her pupils parents. I'm left-leaning and I still think what t his teacher did was egregious and if my child was in her class, I'd be rather irritated and would complain to the principal. No child should have to spend a school year in a classroom with a teacher would be stereotype and castigate their parents just for the political party they belong to.

This teacher needs a new job.

Nope. Doesn't matter. It's not acceptable. If they are college students(adults), than that's ok.
That is not acceptable with elementary school kids.

By continuing to carry on like this, you are pretty much proving the original statement. The teacher said something offhand that was inappropriate. The principal and the superintendent responded, and the teacher has apologized. Stop frothing at the mouth and worry about the real problems of this world - you know, porn and chicks on birth control.
