Ledos

However, be wary, the quality varies quite a bit from store to store. We live in Laurel and the Laurel store is significantly better than others ones that I've been to. The Seabrook one is the worst. That said, we don't like the pizza, but the pastas, sandwiches, calzones are all favorites. It's one of our favorite places for casual dining.

I've lived in Laurel for 20 years and started going right after that Ledo's opened.

ugh, over rated.

I like Pizza Autentica, Angelico's, ZPizza much, much better.

Meh. It is so-so pizza.

There is no good pizza in this area. Mamma Lucia's is about the best you will find, but it's not great.

If you have eaten quality pizza in NY, Connecticut or MA, DC pizza will always yasye sub-par to you. For what it is, this being DC, Ledos is pretty good. I honestly can't understand why DC cannot get pizza right; even Pete's Apizza has a lack of consistence with the sauce and the crust. Is it that the staff just refuse to make it in a consistent way? Is it the water? WTF?

Angelico's Pizza is OK if you are starving and it happens to be there at your kids school event. I would never order it for dinner. The crust is gummy and too thick. I'll excuse thick crust from a chain like Domino's, But Angelico's is a small shop, why can't they figure it out?

Pete's A Pizza is great.

I like it but my son orders peperoni and each piece of meat is like a pool containing grease. I can't stand to see him consume it..so we rarely go..

the original Ledo's location has this crazy good salad dressing that they don't use in the other stores...

I like it but our store (Arlington) sometimes gives me a cold in the middle calzone. My husband LOVES the store in Georgetown.

HATE IT (lived here since 1992.)

My favorite local pizza is 3 Brothers. The thick Sicilian pizza is quite good.

Agree. I've never had a bad slice there.

Hey, you forgot Jersey, which is almost the same as NY. You're getting on shaky ground as you get into New England. For example, Pete's is New Haven style pizza, and it's nothing like I had growing up (and I'm not a fan).

Anyway, if you like NY pizza, try to brave the lines at The Italian Store off of Lee highway. If you ever get tired of the subs (as if!), the pizza is the best around here.

Oh, and Ledo's is garbage.

Come on. Both times? I've been eating it for years and it was never burned. It is served hot enough to cause 3rd degree burns on your mouth, but it's never been served burned to me.
