OP here. Also met someone who is likely pulling out of Cleveland Dual, which should create an extra spot in 1st grade.

My Maury waitlist is single digits. Since we're inboundary, we can always come "home" for K if charter doesn't work out.

OP, we were in your same position last year and decided to enroll at MV. I plan to re-enroll my child at MV next year and will play it year by year as we are IB for Maury (which I liked, but wanted the language immersion and EL curriculum).

PP, I wish my child was old enough last year for me to apply when MV first opened! At least you didnt have any siblings to compete with.lol

not true - For the PreS class they initially only gave a handful of spots (maybe 5) and waitlisted the rest of the kids as they saved the spots for sibilngs and founders kids.
MV wound up moving down the waitlist to around #30 before school started and #40 once everything settled.

Turned down our Spanish-dominant spot at Oyster today.

Got into the English program at Marie Reed but hoping for dual language slot at the same school. Either way, we're set and very happy about it.

Damn. How bad does West have to be for you to keep paying money for daycare?
