Those are girl shoes.

If you have a boy who wants to look girly, then go for it. If you have a boy who doesn't want to be teased for looking like a girl, then don't buy them.

I'm sorry, but your kids are probably getting made fun of. At least the 10 year old. If he's a black belt, maybe behind his back. But those are NOT boy shoes.

Please don't put Uggs on a boy unless he is old enough to go buy them himself. Conversely, if you want to make certain that he gets practice in dealing with teasing, have him wear Uggs in the winter and Crocs as soon as spring comes around. Complete the look with a militant enviro-satchel!

There was a boy at our elementary school who wore Uggs to school. He was made fun of along with his mom who hovers better than Sikorsky. Even other moms were laughing behind their backs. To this day I wonder what she was thinking.

not that there's anything wrong with that....

but they are either girls shows or shoes for someone who is androgenous.

Not sure if your DH is more fixated on brand than style, but these UGGs went over fine for our DS (also 1st gr), sans teasing. They're not boots, and the ones we had (maybe a fall/winter version?) had fluffy shearling in the heel part, which my son loved.

02:09- those are boy shoes. Ugg boots and Ugg-like boots are not acceptable. You can call people ignorant or whatever, but the fact remains that people will either make fun of your child to his face or behind his back. Why work so hard to make your child weird? What is the point?

Even Target sells boy's boots which are warm and easy to slip on plus a lot cheaper than Uggs.

I have a 10 year old boy (and 3 more boys after him) and while I would LOVE to be able to get some girl shoes on them -- I don't. They are boys. They wear shoes for boys.

A husband who is fashion-conscious about his 6 year old son.
OMG.
I feel sorry for this family when their kids are older.
As a mom to two boys, just let them wear the usual jeans, sweats, etc. Don't make them be fashion standouts, at this point.
Let them decide when/if to be different relative to fashion.
You are creating something that doesn't need to be "created."

Honestly, you all must live under a rock. Ugg boots are unisex. Boys all over nyc wear ugg boots b/c they are comfortable.

Well, that settles it. As we all know, DC has always accepted what is done in NYC as gospel.

Oh, and here are the boys uggs at Zappo's.

People who limit their kid's choices in clothes, or any other form of individual expression, might want to take some time to question why they believe what they do. If it's not hurting anyone, let them be themselves and have some autonomy is their life. In downtown DC I've seen lots of boys wear Uggs. It doesn't to be an issue from what I've seen.
