There is a non-gelatin jello available. I think its called Natural Gels. I've seen it at Whole Foods/Roots. Also, Hunt's Snack Pack Gel Snacks do not contain gelatin. |

I only let my kids draw on wall with their feces. |
| You can use the Knox gelatin to make regular jello sturdier. We love making rainbow by using a large cake pan and filling with one color followed by another color. Fun for parties. |
Just get Kosher gelatin. No animal products at all! I've made the Natural Desserts Jel Mix brand multiple times. I have some cherry flavored "jello" in the fridge right now! http://www.amazon.com/Natural-Desserts-Raspberry-3-Ounce-Pack/dp/B001HTE5JK/ref=sr_1_14?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1324267786&sr=1-14 For any of the pre-made jello products, as long as it's not in the refrigerated section of the grocery store, it does not have any animal products. Hunt's makes vegetarian friendly jello. There's also the Dole ones with fruit in them (lime with pineapple, yum!) and a Kool-Aid brand. |
What about the sugar free kind? I'm sure DCUM can give me a reason to feel guilty about giving DC that! Artificial colors/flavors? |

Mmm. Jell-o, my old friend. I only admit to loving you on anonymous forums where I won't be mocked...
I still go nuts for my great grandmother's raspberry jello, applesauce, and cinnamon red hots (dissolved, not left whole) jello salad. Sigh. |
Artificial sweetener is the worst. I know there are studies, but in true DCUM fashion, I'm just going to go with my own sample-of-one experience. Seriously, when I stopped drinking diet coke and cut out all artificial sweeteners (replacing them with regular coke and real candy and desserts), I lost 10 pounds and had a huge boost in energy and overall well-being. |
| Just a warning on kosher gelatin. A lot of it is made from fish. It's hard to find vegetarian marshmallows, for example, even when they are kosher |
