Spoken like a true 45 year old Mom of a newborn.

Not OP, but my Mom is 55 and I'm 31. Not everyone waits until they're menopausal before procreating.

OP, maybe buy your Mom an inexpensive pair of jeans (Old Navy maybe?). Perhaps cost is what is holding her back from exploring contemporary jean styles.

Lol. Not menopausal if you have a baby. You're 31 and probably don't look half as good as a 45 year old with equity and a good job. But carry on thinking anyone wants to look at your faded, freckled tramp stamp.

Nobody ever looks at a woman and thinks, "Her equity makes those jeans look good!" God you sound awful.

So, basically the only way a man will screw you is if he closes his eyes and thinks of your money? Yeah, you sound like a catch.

15:37 was meant for the "equity beauty", not the pp who commented that she sounds awful (I agree with you).

I think I'm just going to start throwing that around whenever somebody says anything I disagree with.

"This pizza isn't very good."
"It would be good if you had equity and a good job!"

"I really can't stand my mother in law."
"At least she has equity and a good job!"

I have to laugh at this. I'm 56 and I don't like the low-rise thing because it didn't fit the last time it came around in the 60s! I've got saddle bags that need loose pants and a higher waist so the pants won't fall off (cuz once I get pants that are big enough for my saddle bags they're way too big for my waist). Thank god for those pleated high waisted pants in the 80s!

For the record, I buy relaxed jeans from LL Bean. I suspect they might be similar to those mom pants OP hates so I guess I'm not much help! Good luck, OP. I'm sure my dd has given up on the idea of getting me to dress better!

My mom buys Ralph Lauren jeans and they look pretty good on her. They are high waist, but not frumpy looking. She is 58 and I'm almost 32.

So basically you think you think the value and attractiveness of a woman is only based on how she looks in low rise jeans? That is what is really sad I said a woman can look damn good at 45 ( better than some 31 year olds AND she's even more attractive if she's got equity and a good job. But since your brain is in your stupid jeans, that point sailed right over your stupid head.

Blah blah. How ugly are you, anyway?

OP here - I was hoping snarky PP would go away after I ignored her but I had a good laugh

I might try the LL Bean or Eddie Bauer approach, since those are a bit more in her New England Comfort Zone. But I also might just order her a few pairs of Not Your Daughter's Jeans online, grab a couple at Old Navy, and have her try them on. I do agree that the cost is the prohibitive factor - it's not like she can't afford it, she's just very frugal when it comes to buying things for herself. I'd love to make a day of shopping but she lives far away so that's difficult

I recently took my mom to Nordstrom Rack and nabbed a great pair of Not Your Daughter's Jeans for under $50. She looks great.

Be careful at Old Navy. A lot of low-rise stuff there.

Loehman's is great for jeans, you might find discounted Not Your Mother's Jeans there.

My mom is 61 and I'm 40.

It is more than possible to have a young mom and be 40.

This is DC, there are probably 61 year olds with newborns on this board.
