Ladies, please put your boots back in the closet.

Really? Where do you work that you consider this unprofessional?

At a law firm. But i would consider this unprofessional looking in most corporate settings.

Tomorrow is the first day of fall. If it feels like fall, it is OK to wear boots. There's been maybe one or two days in the last week when boots were appropriate.

Whether or not they are appropriate for work depends on your workplace culture.

I totally disagree. You have no sense of fashion. Hillary. Please go back to your gray pantsuit.

Actually, I can think of a LOT of uglier and less professional looking things. Don't limit yourself so, PP.

This is hilarious. My sense of fashion dictates not to look trashy. Boots and skirts--especially if you're not the right build (and most people who sport that look arent) is not a good look.

Heeled boots and skirts are completely profesional. Exactly what are women supposed to wear in the winter? Pants only? I'm an attorney and plenty of attorneys around here rock that look. Are you old, PP? Or are your calves too fat for boots and you're jealous?

OMG, first day at new school saw mom with "Wellies" (is that what they call them? no matter.) tiny top and tiny shorts. It was the funniest thing we ever saw. DH laughed in her face (I told him that wasn't polite), but he couldn't help it, it just came out. A grown woman in that outfit? Really? She thought she looked hot (she thinks guys like "Wellies"??? What???) so that made it more funny.

When I see those big rain boots I think 70 year old man with a driving cap. Y'know, like your grandfather. Funny!

For some unknown reason, wellies are very trendy right now. That mom probably thought she was hot shit.

Washington DC is the nation’s power suit capitol, but this is really not the look I’m going for:

Poor Hill- she's wicked smart with hideous legs. What else can she do?

I'm with the OP. I HATE boots. I think they are hideous and very few people can truly pull them off. I lived on a mountain in Oregon for 6 years and never wore boots, even in the winter when I was snowshoeing. I wore hiking boots. IMO boots belong on the slopes and that's it. Unless they're rain boots. But I realize different strokes for different folks and if you want to look ridiculous wearing boots of any type then that's your prerogative. I won't force you to wear my comfortable and functional shoes and you can wear your boots.

I never knew so many people were so against boots.
