Why do you put a "My Child is an Honor Roll Student at XXX" sticker on your car?

worse than that are children wearing a shirt with the name of the college mommy or dad went/goes.

What's the difference between this and putting a college or university decal on the back window of a car?

Sorry Ellie, I know you worked super hard. I know we beat dyslexia and you are finally reading at grade level, mommy is super proud! I'm so proud that you're on the honor roll and that you want mommy to put this sticker on her car, but I think it's super tacky and well... well, it's just not cool looking. But I'm still proud of you, Ellie. Ellie, don't cry! I know you worked hard! It's *JUST* a sticker, Ellie, in mommy's heart she's proud, does it matter if her car says she's proud?

This is probably a good compromise. Personally, I'm not a fan of these stickers (I feel they advertise that your child is 'better' than mine), but that's just my neurosis. I can see the point about your child being hurt if you don't put it on.

LOL. You probably have to divide up the stickers during the divorce settlement.

Would you prefer cash? I think DC wants to (is already doing) do this.

me too! my kids are too young to get them but I would in a heartbeat. A better question is why the Baby on Board stickers-why??

I hate this. It makes me want to ask them why they think I give a $#!&! Sometimes, I wish I were driving a mack truck and scare the hell out of them.

To show your kid you are proud of him/her. Why else? You guys are WAY too hung up on what other people think of you. Sheesh.

Why do parents put the "my kid is an honor student" bumper stickers on their cars? How dumb are you to ask this, OP? It's obvious that the stickers are to show pride in their child's academic accomplishments and/or to brag. Why not just come out and say "Those student bumper stickers are tacky and I hate them!"?

That said, I don't care what others put on their cars. I wouldn't put a bumper sticker of any kind on mine. Although my husband and I have joked about getting a bunch of those window family stickers and adding a ton of kids and/or cats.

How about a sticker that says: We thought we are better than you and now we have some proof.

Your kid would cry if you didn't put a bumper sticker on your car? That does not sound honorable.

LOL! I've wondered this too!!

I am going to get a bunch of these bumper stickers and put the on cars at the mall.

Be careful, you might get a fine for vandalism!

My child has been on honor roll, and knows we think he's terrific. He'd prefer we not broadcast if from the bumper of the car.
