Anyone yet hear the results of the Annandale boundary study vote tonight?

Sure they will. It's just that the over-crowded school will be Frost, not Annandale.

Exactly. But a new School Board will get to deal with it.

You know, I feel for Hone's cause, but my kids' purpose in high school is not to be a public service to someone else. I hope they grow up to be charitable and give back to the community on their own terms, but the hell if I'm going to support sending them to an overcroweded school to get a lesser education for the PURPOSE of being someone's Allison.

That's why my kids will attend private HS

Fair enough, but no point gloating now.

As these debates go, this one wasn't bad. Strauss conducted the meeting much better than Smith would have done, even if she tripped over a few of the procedural aspects. Evans handled herself with grace. Hone's always an interesting public speaker, even when she spouts nonsense. Nice to see Moon get a little emotional. Bradsher was, as usual, borderline incoherent. And Gibson hasn't met an audience he can't offend within three minutes.

For those keeping track, the most closely watched motion to amend (to keep the WFES kids at Annandale) failed on a 6-6 tie. Voting in favor of the amendment were Hone, Evans, Moon, Storck, Reed and Strauss. Opposing were Wilson, Center, Smith, Bradsher, Raney and Gibson. My bet is that Strauss (who offered no comments during the debate) voted in favor of the motion because she knew it would still fail.

That way they can be a Dealer to a poorer kid, rather than an Allison.

One non-sequitur deserves another.

Rich white kids and their whiney parents get what they want.

In other news, water still wet.

Rich white kids? Have you ever been to east WF? A couple of wealthy and upper middle class streets, but most homes are in the low 500s and mid 400s, if they sell at all. Not a lot of beamers here - this is not a wealthy or even upper middle class neighborhood, at all.

Uh, 50% percent of them wanted to stay at AHS. They did not get what they wanted. And they aren't even rich by local standards.

I have yet to see a house in WF that would sell in the 400s. Mine is one of the smaller houses in the neighborhood and it was just appriased at 550 (before the redistricting.)

So sad for the owners. There must be something very wrong with it.
