I don't understand the desire to be stick thin.
I don't understand why some women still outline their lips with black liner eew.

Didn't you get the memo? Racism is over! We have one of THEM in the White House. We're post racial now. If ANYONE is persecuted it's white folks. DUH!

I get tired of my running shorts giving me wedgies, especially when I'm on a long run, so compression shorts (with or without attached skirt, depending on how many pockets I need) are awesome.

Why a family takes their kids to Italy for spring break, yet says they haven't saved any money for those kids to go to college for over two years. DUH.

The appeal of television

I don't even have an iPod, not much of a music fan, either.

Why people have to get all dolled up in their finest clothes and jewelry for a fundraiser to help the poor.

People who own BMWs yet don't own a house. People who have 200 designer purses, but don't have a retirement account. People who have large amounts of credit card debt.

For me it's not just the black liner, it's any lip liner. I don't understand it. It never seems to look good. I hardly ever wear make-up though.

I don't understand how some people DON'T listen to music. That or they only listen to music on the radio. There's so much awesome music out there!

People who say "excuse you" when they run into you.

I'm the PP who doesn't listen to music. It just never comes up. I don't have a long commute. I can't stand to wear earbuds or headphones when exercising. Music and TV are just too much stimulation for me.

Another one that doesn't understand taking your dog everywhere. Saw a family with their non service dog in the fucking grocery store. WTF is wrong with you people? Gross. And why does management do nothing. I was in line with fucking Fido sniffing the candy rack. Dumb assholes.

Okay, well if you don't understand, I can explain it to you. Not everyone wants to buy a house. I am 37 and have never owned a house. Don't know when I will. I've lived in three countries in the past five years, and I will probably move again in the next year. One of the countries I lived in - eh, a lot of people drive BMWs (and other very nice cars).

Now, I don't have even one designer purse, and I do have a retirement account, but the nice car/no house issue is a different one. Sometimes I think I'd like a house, but it just doesn't suit my lifestyle (yet).

I don't have a BMW but we don't own a house because it doesn't make financial sense. I can rent for much less than owning. There are also some of us who believe the DC housing market is going to decline in value.
