Things I don't understand

Women in their 40s deciding to go gray.

And I wish I didn't feel like that.

Well, crap! I JUST decided this week that I was going to stop coloring and let my hair go gray.

I was already having a hard time embracing it, and now I guess I can't go through with it . . . .

Sorry! I feel so mean. Is coloring a real pain in the neck? (I've never done it).

Ok, now I'm just going to kill you.

To answer your question, YES. Especially if it has to be done every 4-5 weeks or you will have a skunk stripe in the middle of your head and if you started going gray in college and therefore have been coloring your hair for about 20 years by the time you're 40, then I would describe it as a real pain in the neck.

I'm not real anxious to look like a grandma, but I was going to give it a try and see how it looked because I hate coloring it. Or perhaps not. Not your fault, though!

NP here. I'm 42 now and feel I need to color. My hair is naturally dark brown. As I age and more gray comes in, I will continue to color my hair, but I will go lighter and lighter. Eventually, I will be a light golden brown goddess (okay, old goddess). I came up with this plan when I turned 40, and I will see it through.

I don't understand the appeal of peeing-in-proximity. There are three stalls. I'm in the one on the end. WHY must you choose the one in the middle? Why? Is it like the opposite of shy bladder syndrome? Do you have an easier time peeing if you're close to someone else who's peeing?

Then you don't have to be polished, so feel free to not wear makeup. A senior vp for international sales would look unpolished if she did not wear at least a little eye and lip makeup.

Hey, that's my job! Seriously. And I do wear makeup. Get manicures. Wear good suits. All of that stuff. Because frankly, it matters in some jobs.

I don't understand why some women make the same stupid dating/marriage mistakes. Examples - 1) always "unknowingly" dating a married man, 2) continually dating verbal abusers, 3) losers that can't hold a job, etc.

It drives me crazy! I can have sympathy for you coworker/friend/sister if you stop making the same mistakes over and over.

I don't understand how naive some people are and why they are in denial that racist things happen.

Nobody is denying they happen. But not everything negative that happens to you is because of your race. Sometimes the server or the person behind the counter or whatever just sucks. If you look too hard for it, you'll find it everywhere. Go ahead and assume the worst of everyone. Meanwhile, I'll be getting ahead--in work, in life, in general.

People who go through threads here and post comments that are neither helpful nor nice. Or even on topic. Annoying.
And then write about how all the people posting are clearly bored/lonely/need a life/need therapy/etc.

Totally agree. The idea of keeping an animal in my house disgusts me. It's unnatural and unhygienic.
