LAMB - Brookland Campus

So there'll be 60 3/4s at the Brookland campus and we'll all be new to the school, right? Has there been mention of any summer meet-ups or a parent listserv for us to connect on our own?

My daughter will be at the new school and I was wondering the same thing about a summer meet-up. I will be having another baby within the next 3 weeks, but if the school doesn't arrange for some list serve or parent get together after that, I am happy to do some work on setting something up.

I'm out of town this summer but can't wait to get involved when the new year starts. It's going to be so much fun!

congrats to all the new LAMB families-- you are really lucky to be part of such a special school.

I think your children will have a great experience, especially now that the school is 8 years old. My caution to you is to not expect the world and to remember that school is a long long hike, not a sprint. If the first couple of weeks are not completely organized or if things change a bit from what you thought, don't be disappointed or upset. The most important basics are there-- you child will be respected as a person and educated according to his/her needs and desires. Good luck and have fun!

Do you think it'd be possible to get a tour of the campus?

Why?

Four smallish classrooms with 16 kids each and a nice-ish playground. That's pretty much it.

Duhhh..excellent school in temporary space, with a waiting list out the wazoo...what do you need to see?? Go to www. Buildhope.com, a picture of the classroom is online. Better yet, make someone else happy and give up your slot, and fork up $26k for preschool!!

We did not go to the info session and we just found out our DD got off wait list for Brookland campus. We are pleased.

However, does anyone know whether there will definitely be before and after care offered at the Brookland campus?

How many PK4s are there? I thought 60 but given the info in this thread, it sounds like it is 30...

Just out of curiosity, what are these families going to do after, say 1st grade? Do you really want to do Montessori all the way through elementary? Honestly curious.

we attended Montessori for PS2 and PS3, we switched to a progressive program at PK4. Great program, loved it...but we were only staying until PK4..M2C (my two cents)!
