I have lived in many different countries, always legal or on diplomatic status, and you do not complain about the inconveniences of any particular country. It is bad manners. My feeling was always that no one held a gun to my head to go there and, therefore, if I don't like it, I can always leave. This is the same way I feel about those who come to the US, where no matter how bad it can be, it is still a million times better than any other country, including Western Europe, then get the hell out. the illegals I know are awesome - hard workers who work their a$$es off, make money (send a lot of it home) and keep their mouths shut.

A liberal wouldn't refer to people as "illegals". Some people may be here illegally; others may be undocumented or have their visa status run out, but no honest liberal would refer to people as illegals. And, the last I checked this was a free country where all people were free to voice their opinions. Were your great grand parents here legally?

How familiar are you with No Child Left Behind? ALL kids--including non-English speakers--are expected to pass annual exams. If a subgroup of students--like those non-English speakers--has an overall failure rate, the school risks being named a "Failing School," and being closed. Of course schools are scrambling to ensure that everyone passes those tests, despite the tremendous drain on resources.
