How long to get pregnant? What was your age for each pregnancy?

Tried for 11 months before conceiving at 37.

Tried for 4 months before conceiving at 39.

Definitely go with tracking your fertility signs through basal body temperature charting. When I did this, I needed to use an old fashioned mercury thermometer, as could not fine a digital one that gave accurate results - even the one that was sold especially for fertility tracking. I actually freaked out the first month, as my chart made no sense. Then switched to a mercury thermometer and the chart looked perfect.

Good luck!

35, almost 36 - total accident while using birth control. I was unemployed at the time, and while I was a little stressed about finding a job, I was working out every single day, taking yoga several times a week, eating really well, sleeping enough (for about the first time in my life) and not drinking too much or smoking at all. I think I got pregnant in part because I was taking such good care of myself that my body was just more healthy, and my mind was in a pretty chill place. (before that, I was working 10-12 hour days, evenings and weekends and generally burned out.) I might have just been "lucky" to be fertile (though I sure didn't feel that way at the time), but I think studies and anecdotal evidence have both supported removing stressors and putting good habits in place, to help fertility.

It took 5 cycles with our first, that's due in May. I'm 29.

I started to feel a little panicky too and asked a friend (who is an OB) about it after 4 months. He assured me that I had no reason to start worrying yet and it would probably help if I relaxed a little bit. He also mentioned that it took over a year for him and his wife to conceive their first. I felt a lot better after that and, sure enough, I was pregnant the next month. Good luck!

I am also 29 and it took 5 cycles. I was getting impatient and purchased the Clearblue Easy Fertility monitor and got pregnant the first month after using it.

The one with 7 sticks per month did not work for me.

Good luck!

Age 30 - 1 month
Age 34 - 1 month

I realize that I have been very fortunate. Hang in there! 4 cycles is not that long though I know waiting makes it seem like forever - I did not wait once we started trying for our 2nd child, but we did have to wait for over a year after I was emotionally ready to conceive to start trying (for financial & career reasons) which seemed like an eternity.

28 - pregnant the first time we tried.

#1 - age 23, 5 months
#2 - age 26, accident (were planning to wait another 6 months before trying for #2)
#3 - age 29, accident (thought we were done after #2)

Despite my history, I do actually know how birth control works.

34, first try. we have used condoms vs the pill for several years, which i suspect helped.

it's different for everyone, so don't fret if it takes a while.

i did use an iphone app (Period Tracker) to help me predict fertile days. worked like a charm.
