I tried to search for other stories about him, but "awesome dc metro conductor" doesn't return the best results. I did find a DCist item from three years ago. Best quote from their comments thread:
"Red Line, Judiciary Square. If you are on jury duty today, thank you for doing this public service. If you're on trial today, best of luck." |

I've had this guy. He totally kicks ass.
The one I had this morning on the orange line was cracking me up. He sounded like he was amusing himself by saying the different announcements in different tones, slowing down and speeding up his words for effect, occasionally changing his accent a bit. It definitely wasn't accidental. |
| I think he also talks about how to properly walk on the platform. Don't walk on the granite edge!!! He was hysterical and made the ride actually kind of fun!! |
| I never understood why they used the real conductor's voice instead of it being a standardized voice. Most of the conductors speak in Ebonics or not very clearly and tourists are confused. |
| Love this guy. |

There was an awesome conductor back when I rode the orange line in 2002-2003. He would encourage passengers to temporarily detrain to let others off and promised he wouldn't leave you behind - "boy scout's honor."
Loved him! I wonder if it's the same guy?? I think I might have emailed Metro to give kudos. |
| DH and I run into this guy on the Red Line now and then. He's so cool. Amazing what a difference it makes in the atmosphere on the train. People smile and make eye contact and actually DO what the conductor says, instead of the usual head-down-ignore-everyone-get-to-work thing. |
| My absolute favorite guy is on the orange/blue line when I'm running late (around 8:45 or so am). One day he said, "It's going to be a long strange trip today, folks, and I'm not talking about the 70s." Love him. |
| I almost never ride Metro (live and work in the burbs), so I've never had the chance to encounter this conductor. Love the post though - it's nice to read something so positive. |
Jerk. Nice display of racism there. Please stay off Metro and walk wherever you need to go, wearing earplugs so you won't be subjected to any speech patterns or accents you deem unacceptable. |
| Awww, and we were doing so well at ignoring the troll. |
| I know! Why can't you people just ignore them?? |
| I think I've had this guy on the orange line. One morning he was like "Metro Center, the time is now 8:32 a.m. Well, let's say it's 8:25 so you won't be late!" |

D.C. needs more of this guy! Yesterday! |
I had a male flight attendant like that once. It was awesome! made leaving Vegas to head back to work a little more pleasant!
