Best. Conductor. Ever. He sounded like a cross between an auctioneer and a Baptist preacher. Funny, informative, actually got people moving and then praised them for doing it. "OutSTANDing! On to the next stop... Farragut North. You know the routine, folks, allow passengers on the train to exit before attempting to board... Don't worry, we won't leave without you. Please be mindful of my disabled and elderly passengers. Do you need that seat more than they do?" And so on. All with humor and happiness in his big booming voice. People on the train were laughing and talking to strangers.
Stuff like that makes me happy. Like when a metro conductor does the big exaggerated Aaaaalllllll Abooooooaaaaard! And the tourists' kids get super excited. |
| You should write metro and let them know. This can be their holiday present. God knows they need some positive news with all the problems they have been having. |
| Oh, I did! I hope they can figure out who it was, and give him a shiny gold star. |
| I had that guy once on the Orange Line! |
| I think I may have had him, too. Yes please let Metro know--people who make living life easier and more pleasant when they don't have to deserve to be praised! |
| I've ridden with that guy before, also on the Red Line. Made my day. |
| Yep - I've had him before on the Red Line - love him! |

THIS is what this city needs! A decent attitude goes a long way and is contagious. Other cities are like this. It's great! |
| Just reading this made my day. Thanks. |
| That sound great! I wish we could forward him this thread! |

Awesome! THIS is what the holidays are about -- making people happy because you are in the right spirit!
Happy holidays, everyone, and thanks, anonymous metro conductor! |
| I bet it was the same guy I had once on the Blue line. He was so hysterically funny, very dry wit. |
| Yay for him! |

One rush hour Friday evening - "Now arriving Metro Center. For those of you departing at Metro Center, your weekend starts on the right."
He is great. He shows up on lots of blogs. . .people sharing how funny and genuine he is. |
| I've had him before, too. On the red line, maybe about two years ago. He's awesome! |
