I suppose you have never been to a high school graduation in FCPS? They do not call out the names of absent kids. This is not unique in school ceremonies across the country. Why do think they should call his name if he is absent? Were you there and expecting to get his certificate on his behalf? |
First of all, it’s 6th grade and not an actual graduation with 1,000s of kids. I suspect they don’t read absent names at a real graduation due to time constraints. There was no reason not to acknowledge him at this promotion ceremony, considering it was not his fault he couldn’t go. |
This happens all the time at 6th grade promotion ceremonies. If the kid is absent, then they do not call the name. |
