Gap Undewear changed. What next?

When I put the new medium pair against one of my older pairs, the cut is different (wider!) and it just does not stay in place. I can't go down a size. What next?? I need cotton, simple bikinis. No lace or other fussy things and definitely nothing too narrow in the bum.

Any ideas?

No butt floss for you!

Another jockey, 100% cotton fan. Have been wearing their string bikini underwear for more than 40 years. Yes, I am old

Try looking at Target at Hanes cotton underwear. Try High Cuts and Hipsters. They also have Bikinis.

Hanes discontinued my favorite nylon High Cuts a few years back, but I've tried other styles and Hanes is not "too cheeky'.

Like most underwear these days they are thin, so eventually to see through, but at least they are cotton and not too cheeky

But they still have those at pink. They have full bikini cotton underwear.

No they have spandex in them

Gap stopped making 100% cotton panties years ago they added spandex just like vs did.

I wear Jockey elance too, because they were the only 100% cotton non-cheeky underwear I could find last time I looked, but I don't like how thick they are. There are significant lines even in reasonably thick pants. Any other recommendations that are truly all cotton? Otherwise I get itchy...

Do your Aeries fall apart? If not, which kind to you wear? My DD wore their bikinis for a while and I banned them because they got so many holes and basically disintegrated in less than a year.

OP here, thank you all for the ideas. I will give some of them a shot. I'm sad to move on, but it is time.

And yes, definitely no butt floss for me! My idea of a nightmare.

No, they don't fall apart. Is your DD washing her undies on the gentle cycle? Is she tossing them in with jeans - maybe zippers are tearing them? I have some that were bought before the pandemic and they're in perfect shape. No holes (beyond the three designed of course) at all. Here's what I buy (and what my 23 yr old also buys in a different size): https://www.ae.com/us/en/p/aerie/undies/boybrief-underwear/smoothez-everyday-boybrief-underwear/3773_8350_807

For a while they had those (what I linked) with a cute diagonal thing in the front (similar to how yoga pants had that diagonal slant also) that we both really liked but they stopped selling that.

Op asked for cotton there is zero cotton in those panties. They are 82% Recycled Nylon, 18% Elastane.

I wore Gap cotton hipsters for like 20 years and had to switch a year or so ago. I tried Natori Bliss Bare cotton hipsters and found them comfortable but poor quality (three pairs got holes within a couple of months). So now I’m wearing Evry Studio “light,” which are also hipsters. They are 80/20 cotton (100% cotton gusset), and I find them incredibly comfortable and durable (so far).

OP, I know you’re looking for bikinis, but I’m posting this in case you want to try a different style or for anyone else who might be looking for a Gap hipster replacement.

These from Fruit of the Loom: https://www.fruit.com/p/women-s-cotton-bikini-panty-assorted-12-pack/12DBIK1

I also have some Gap Body cotton bikini from back in the day that I ration. The FOTL are pretty great for regular wear, though.
