I've worn the cotton bikini underwear from the Gap for decades. It has changed. When I put the new medium pair against one of my older pairs, the cut is different (wider!) and it just does not stay in place. I can't go down a size. What next?? I need cotton, simple bikinis. No lace or other fussy things and definitely nothing too narrow in the bum.
Any ideas? |
| The Amazon essential ones are pretty good. Conceptually I hate buying underwear from Amazon, but I have found them comfortable, simple, and good quality for the price. I also wear gap but prefer the Amazon. |
| They don’t last as long as they used to either, but I’ve been wearing Jockey Elance string bikinis for 30+ years. Despite not being as durable, they still don’t ride up, fall down, etc., at least for me. They have many other styles as well. Might be worth a shot. |
| They also changed their wireless underwire bras. Shame. I pretty only bought from them. No longer. Why do they change a good thing? |
| Have you tried Old Navy? I wear theirs day-to-day (different cut though). |
+1 Jockey is also one of few brands that sells 100% cotton styles. |
| I left Gap back when GAP Body was still a thing, and converted to Aerie. I really like theirs. Very simple, fits well, no wedgies. |
| I wear the Organic ones from Gap, those have not changed. Just got some a few weeks ago. |

| I have to size up in all underwear to get butt coverage now, since everything is "cheeky." |
| Agree, most underwear is terrible now. I miss the cotton Victoria Secret styles of my college days. Closest I can find is the in-house brand by Bare necessities. Like most underwear these days they are thin, so eventually to see through, but at least they are cotton and not too cheeky |
I don't miss them because I still have them... (hides in shame). |
But they still have those at pink. They have full bikini cotton underwear. |
This. It is so annoying. |
me, too. Quality has gone down, and so have their sales. |
