If questioned about it, be honest and forthcoming.
Otherwise leave it to the school. And if the school does nothing, it is up to the victims (whether the boy who was beaten, or the girls who were grabbed), to push the matter. |
| This behavior is inappropriate and disturbing. It is not anything new. It needs to be addressed, though. Now. |
Oh please, stop making things up. People on here just love to make things up about Carson kids. |
| Good for the students. If the school administration or parents aren't going to do anything about rampant assault, it's up to the students to inflict a little justice and change behavior. |
| My Carson 7th grader was unaware of this situation and fight, but did say that the dance was only for 8th graders. |
| I'd encourage my kid to not say a damn thing |
| They had a Carson-Hughes basketball game tonight. Hopefully kids involves in assault weren't allowed to play or attend .... (Hughes parent whose daughter went with a friend and her dad). |
That perception might be based on the Fairfax High School incident, and Descano doengrading the sexual assailt charges against a dozen plus girls, as young as 13, to misdemeanor "butt slapping" Fairfax leadership has given clear signals that men violating minor girls is no big deal, and even less of a problem if you are not a citizen or visa holder. |
NP. This is not the teachers’ job. I guarantee any kid groping other students has had multiple discipline referrals by teachers which have been ignored or blamed on “classroom management”. Parents need to go directly to police if this happens to their child. Most 8th graders are at least 14 at this point in the school year. Press charges and start a paper trail before the pervert gets to high school. |
Oh please, get your head out of the sand. People on here just refuse to believe that rich kids can be just as low class as anyone else. |
This is the way but sadly FCPS allows girls to be assaulted and they look the other way. |
| It is amazing how we are at Carson and none of the boys or girls we know of have had any of these issues or have heard of anyone having these issues. It is almost like a small group of people really don’t like Carson and want to start a topic anytime someone says something happened at Carson. |
Just because you aren't hearing of them doesn't mean they aren't happening. There is a small group of people who aren't having the same experience as you and they are making their voices heard. Instead of complaining about them, turn your focus over to Carson admin and ask what they are doing to improve the situation for all students. |
You undermine your credibility when you claim none of the kids you know have either experienced or heard about a particular issue. It's like you're pretending they tell you everything, and they don't. And all it does it let people know you don't ever want to hear anything negative about Carson. So, yes, some people may be looking for reasons to criticize Carson, especially now with the boundary issues, but you're making things worse with that type of response. |
