I use my husband's. Everything comes apart and can be washed, so don't freak out people. Although I know you will anyway !

does your husband's beard irritate the skin on your face?

pp who mentioned the trimmer here -- I don't have sharpness issues. I shaved in my early 20s -- ITCHY, red bumps, ingrown hairs, yuck. Anything that fully removes the hair (also waxing) leaves me miserable.

I don't have any problem with the trimming. It isn't so insanely short as to cause that itch/prickle, though I do use the lowest setting on most of the area.

I think I love you.

I do the beard trimmer (body trimmer by norelco, also off amazon). Leaves hair very sort but never cuts me and is not itchy (now shaving with a razor can be itchy). I tweeze the line. Hurts but used to it. Would prefer to wax, but don't want to drop $50 on my groin each month, and have been married for years now. Basically I just keep it short and neat.

Me, this. Age 43. Actually I don't tweeze the line bc that would take 4 hours. I use Nad's cold wax large muslin strips to do the inner thigh / line. I sit on a closed toilet seat and do it and it takes 5 minutes, then I jump in the shower. A couple of thoughts ....

1. I don't feel the need to do laser or pay $$ for complete 102% hairlessness because, candidly, if some mom at the pool is noticing 3 stray hairs I missed, then her face is too close to my cootch and that is most definitely HER problem for staring. I do a decent job, not pristine perfect.

2. I've been married 14 years. If someday my 44 yr old husband suddenly suggested that I should bare it all because it was "hot" or something, I would conclude he has been looking at porn, and I would tell him to F.O. Just because the kids are insisting on the pre-pubescent bare look does not mean old marrieds need to change it up and match them. I'm not planning on sleeping with a 21 yr old guy, so therefore I am not planning on going bald.

Another novice trimmer here. I've done the spa thing a few times, but find the experience pretty uncomfortable and inconvenient. Right now I just shave. I would like to try the epilator. Do you do that on the above area only - say between your hips/pelvis area or do you also do the epilator between your legs, where there are also stray hairs? Like when you get it waxed.

I don't do anything.

Trim the bikini line during summer - otherwise nada. No complaints from DH - in fact he'd probably find the prepub look creepy if I started something like that up, particularly since we have a prepub DD. I don't get that whole look but then I'm in my 40s.

I use it between my legs - mostly the area where the thigh meets the pelvis, and also any strays around the butt area (I'm really not that hairy even though it's sounding like it). I leave the labia alone and just trim there. So basically I get rid of anything that you would see with v-string undies. Hope that wasn't TMI.

I do the Brazilian - sometimes full-on, sometimes with landing strip. I'm 40. It's a personal preference, but it's something DH likes as well. The biggest drawback for me, other than cost and hassle of yet another appointment to deal with, is that you've got someone all up in your business. Truly, my waxer is more familiar with my girl parts than my OB/GYN. Finding a waxer who's very matter-of-fact and who makes you comfortable is key. I love Skin Beauty Lounge on Capitol Hill, but it's not convenient for me, so I found a waxer in the burbs.

It's funny that so many are worried about getting stink-eye in the locker room for not being hairless enough. I try to change in/out of my undergarments fairly quickly because I'd rather everyone not know that I (and my husband) like it bare.

I'm 29 and find myself uncertain about how to "manage." I didn't know what to do for a long time and would trim with scissors. I'm not into the bare look and even if I was, I don't have the money to get it. Instead, I bought this trimmer (don't laugh) http://www.amazon.com/Jenna-Jamesons-Trimmer-Bikini-Removal/dp/B000NIGU30/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top I bought it because the reviews I found on another site said it was the best for not pinching or pulling the hair while trimming. I'm a little surprised at the reviews on amazon, I've been using this same trimmer for4 years and it rarely pulls a hair, which can be a big problem with other trimmers, especially if you aren't a frequent trimmer. I think the trimmer is easy to use (I don't use the shapes) and it cuts the hair pretty short but without the irritation of shaving.

Ha! I love that the shave cream that comes with the Jenna Jameson trimmer mentioned above is called "Coochy"! I must be 12 years old!

So, I got this http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P211908 and I love it! I use the epilator to do basically do what a bikini wax would and then I use the trimmer to groom/cut the rest. I love that you can use it in the shower too. It takes a while the first time, but now I just take it in the shower with me and do some upkeep every week.

Tell me about the pain factor of this gizmo. I can handle a straight bikini wax (never tried Brazilian for various reasons) with just momentary discomfort.

I find it less painful than wax, but it's small doses of pain instead of just ripping it off like a bandaid. Depends on your preference! I actually got one from Sephora and it stopped working a day later so I exchanged itt. I'm sure you could return it if you don't like it.

I shave and tweeze. I actually LOVE the tweezing part. I get some crazy satisfaction out of the tweezing. Though I do have issues with occasional ingrowns. Anyone have a good approach to keeping the ingrowns away?

I had laser done about 5yrs ago, best investment ever. I have a "triangle". In terms of growth of existing pubes, I cut with scissors.
DH does as well FWIW!

During the warm months or if I'm going on vacation, I get bikini waxes. Normally I have them leave a bit more than a landing strip. The rest of the year I am lazy and just do the occasional trim. I'm not very hairy at all, though, so it doesn't get out of hand.

I've gone totally bare and it freaks me out. I look like a little girl and it's too wierd to think of my DH digging that.
