Congrats to those who got acceptances! Out of curiosity how long do they give you to accept?

We have until May 29th.
So I think the next wave is mid June.

If they follow the current cadence (2 weeks for applicants to decide, next round of acceptances sent a week later), we are looking at 4 more rounds - June 5, June 26, July 17, August 7.

Do we know how many are in the waitpool?

What schools?

So do they just keep kids on the waitlist or do they also just eliminate them as well?

Wdym by eliminating them off a waitlist. If you are given an offer and don’t accept, you are off the waitlist.

No I mean, along with issuing acceptances are they also reducing the waiting list by rejecting them now? Or do they just stay on the list unless they hear?

My understanding is at this point you are either accepted off the waitlist or just in limbo on the waitlist until they stop giving acceptances, which could be as late as 2 weeks into the new school year. I don’t think at this point we get an outright rejection from the waitlist.

Yeah, this is my understanding as well. They are trying to fill seats. Culling people from the waitlist purpose. If you are on the waitlist, you can remove yourself, TJ won’t.

My neighbor's kid got admission offer 2 weeks after school started last year. They went to base HS the first 2 weeks!

Really? That seems nuts. For all the time management crap they expect out of MS kids...

We saw this at our LI ES. Parents signed up for the LI program and then decided against it the day of the Open House, we saw the names posted on the door and then the kid wasn't in the class. I can see something similar at TJ that the student and parents are excited but as you get closer and the nerves hit some people change their mind. Or they go for the first week or so and quickly decide that they hate the commute and return ot their base school. Or they get cold feet when school starts.

And for kids who are on the wait list and really bummed that they were not selected, the year is still young so they accept the offer and don't miss much.
