It's so predictable that the more controversial things are, the later they're posted. I wonder if they send them to Board members earlier than that, or if they only see those things at the last moment as well?

It is predictable. And it would be nice if someone, either the County Council or MSDE, held the BOE accountable for this.

They often aren't posted until the day of the meeting often during the meeting as they are discussing the item

Since they didn't voice out anything regarding acceleration recommendations in the last week's BOE session, I bet on 99% chance this is not discussed at all in the study team.

How did we land in this place - in a community that values excellence in education, but with a superintendent that thinks equity means no accelerated differentiation for students ready to achieve at a higher level?

All the more reason people need to speak up. But this board has rubber stamped everything MCPS wants. Just look at the destruction of the high school magnets for the “regional model.”

What would the Board vote on? I presume that MCPS will present on Thursday and begin implementation after that.

The Board doesn't vote on acceleration and enrichment changes. They could introduce or amend policies that would block or reverse certain changes from happening-- although they won't because they like to be hands-off-- but they don't vote on and approve changes like this. It will just be MCPS staff reporting on what they are planning to do/have decided on doing.
