+1 We complained that our young coach showed up late and hungover to a tournament game. Coincidently, my kid started being benched. |
I don't know a single freshman PT/AU kid who did not make BOC or YHS JV teams this year. One did not try out to focus on a different sport. |
Wow. totally unacceptable. |
I'm very familiar with both team, and this is not true. Many did not make it, but not from the top teams. |
| AU has been great. Womer has put an incredible program together and it keeps growing. If you live in Arlington this is an easy decision. |
The getting strong and fast point is the key. It's been surprising how little of 12u baseball translates when what they need is strength and speed. The kids who made a decision to lift seriously at 13/14 (or are lucky with genetics) are leaping ahead of kids who just can't hit with a BBCOR bat and can't make longer throws effectively. |
Well, I agree with that but It also matters where you play if they’re going to bench you because you’re not paying for extra private lessons every week. That is par for the course at one of these programs and everyone knows it. Reps and confidence matter in baseball. |

AU is a clear choice if you are looking purely at a better baseball team and program. I've compared PT and AU/TB results and players at a couple of levels, and it is a different level of performance.
If you are looking at connections at BOC or similar, then PT is your choice. But that is not baseball and is more about relationships, etc. |
| No talent showed up at PT tryouts. |

I would see what AU team you make. The district teams (lowest teams) are very poorly organized and have extremely intense schedules in the spring since they are trying to do rec and a full travel schedule (2 practices and Sunday double headers, plus two rec games during the week). My son is on the 14u district, and literally every parent has complained about the lack of communication about the summer schedule.
My son has had a good experience but I think the coaching has been mediocre and the communication is nonexistent. |
| Primetime is a D3 factory. They attract a very specific type of kid and parent. |
They are doing 4 teams this year. |
| I would be very wary if there are 4 13u teams this year. My son is on the dmv team, and we have had twice a week practices all spring that have been essentially all 13u teams combined. That’s like 40 kids. Doing the same thing at the same time on the same field for two hours twice a week. Not the most efficient use of time. I can’t imagine another 13 kids there! |
Can you elaborate on this a bit? New to Primetime and have some concerns. |
| Any insights into what the AU 15u beltway team is? I see there is a 14/15 JV team, so is this the 3rd of 4 teams? |
