The getting strong and fast point is the key.  It's been surprising how little of 12u baseball translates when what they need is strength and speed.  The kids who made a decision to lift seriously at 13/14 (or are lucky with genetics) are leaping ahead of kids who just can't hit with a BBCOR bat and can't make longer throws effectively.[/quote]
