That's what I think of too.

- Vera: BRADLEY totes or an older Caribbean grandma.

- Clementine: Parents are trying to hard to be offbeat/hipster and it feels like a name picked by parents in 2012 who listen to Mumford and made that their whole personality.

- Lenora: Must have been named after a grandma and the parents are trying to hard for an old fashioned name but still want to be different.

- Valentina: If Italian, sure. If not, parents who want to seem Euro cool.

- Lila: Non offensive, pretty name, though it always makes me think of the mean girl from Sweet Valley High.

My caveat is that I have a daughter with an "old lady" name. That said:

- Vera: TOO old-ladyish with Clarence in the house
- Clementine: Trying a little too hard, but sweet. Clemmie and Clem are sort of unpleasant nicknames, though.
- Lenora: It's not that different from Nora, which I love, but the full name is just not really my style
- Valentina: Adore
- Lila: Adore

Vera - it's fine, kind of old ladyish
Clementine - Clementine and Clarence sound like a lounge singing duo that performs bad cover songs
Lenora - I like Nora. Do not like Lenora.
Valentina - that's a mouthful
Lila - no one ever knows if it's pronounced Lee-luh or Lie-luh

That's it! I also thought of T.V. waitress but couldn't recall the name of the show.

Clenentine - "Oh my darling, oh my darling, oh my darling Clementine" song

In Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Kate Winslet's character is named Clementine and mentions being tired of the song.

- Vera - Bradley, and also this crazy unattractive person I know
- Clementine - adorable long haired dachshund
- Lenora - Lenovo, but add an O and then Leonora Carrington <3
- Valentina - Kira Plastinina’s short-lived 5th Ave flagship, and other Russian cheesiness
- Lila - from Friday Night Lights. Also Delilah.
I like the sound of “Clarence and Leonora,” and “Clarence and Lila” together. The former combo gives Hong Kong/Chinese-American family vibes

Vera- Uneducated, bitter waitress at a diner with too much makeup.
Clementine- Sweet, nice, maybe a bit mischievous.
Lenora- Weird. Hates people and makes everyone feel creepy.
Valentina- born in Italy, succumbs to being called Val - sad to have been forced to live in dull USA instead of beautiful Italy and being mistaken for plain Valerie.
Lila- raised in the coal mining region in a trailer with no running water, but the family had a massive tv and a monster truck. As an adult, becomes obsessed with shoes because she had to go barefoot as a child and it embarrassed her.

Clarence is unique. I think Clementine is your only choice here.
