It is wild to have that much attrition in one year, I agree. But for context -- in my Division, most of the attorneys who left were already considering retirement within the next year or two, and were already eligible for retirement and took the fork. So, they were retiring soon anyway and thought "Hmm, why not get paid for months of not working with this deferred resignation thing?" The statement from PP that "They're not leaving because things are awesome" is a bit misleading, at least in regard to many of the resignations that made up that 34% attrition in my Division (I use your number, 34% here, but I think it is pretty spot on for our reduction in attorneys, even if not exact -- we lost about 1/3). |

Something must really suck at DOJ for Chad Mizelle to be recruiting via Twitter/X. I remember back in law school getting to work for the DOJ was considered a prestigious position. This administration does everything via Twitter/X. And the Keenan story does not reflect on DOJ as a whole in any way; it reflects on how this administration recruits for and manages leadership, especially with regard to certain priorities. Which is apparent to anyone who watches the news. |

| At least some of these postings are fake. I have a former colleague who was detailed to one agency from another. She has been very popular with political leadership in the agency that she was detailed to and now they are keeping her permanently. HR required them to post a job opening for the permanent position that she has already been offered and accepted. |
| I took the Fork at a non DOJ agency. 1/3 of my office took it and it was a range of folks, some retirement/almost eligible and some mid-career people who just noped out of there. I'm still in touch with co-workers still there. They have not hired any replacements nor have the work requirements lessened and they are full RTO. |

I’m a fed, although not an attorney, and while it’s a bit better now than the previous year, it’s still a sh*t show in many aspects and nothing like “normal”.
If you’re happy where you are, I’d suggest staying put until a new Admin and some changes. |
My former office is hiring scores of people. All in all it’s probably a decent job - not really in a controversial area - and I think things have settled down a lot since past year. Last year a ton of people took the VERA or otherwise left and now, what a surprise, they are incredibly understaffed. People also keep leaving and retiring. |

I thought I'd get used to it, but I'm actually despising it more day by day. I like my job and never thought I'd leave it, but now I'm really considering trying to find a job with more flexibility. |

I know my agency isnt moving the 50+ miles remote people because they dont want to pay relocation costs. |
