If you dated a divorced man for financial security

Aren't you a little bit of curious how to get your own money? You may need it after he leaves you. And no, it's not only-fans or even a career.

In the long run, real relationships with real people are a lot more valuable and stable than a career.

Says the SAHMommy who will likely rue her choices soon enough...

This is true.
My sibling worked VERY HARD on her career. So much that she lost her husband and the children. The marriage really imploded. During those years she didn't even bother to see her own birth family. She had no time for anything except her PhD and her job. Since that awful divorce, she lost her hard won job and hasn't been gainfully employed since despite the Ivy Phd.
Sure, she does well with her investments and gets by but there is no family.

It worked fine, I guess. The second and third wife of my ex both got settlements upon divorce. He is impossible to live with, financial security and all.

Well, careers have worked out pretty well for men up to now.

Have you looked at the proportion of marriages that end in divorce lately?

I think you need to update your software.

Women keep themselves up to have better access to men who make money

There’s obviously a lot of crossover, but I’ve never understood all the hate in posts about how Kate / Meghan etc. were gold digging.

Like, OK Genius. That’s all of history.

You can either get put into an arranged marriage, get pregnant or get someone pregnant and be herded into a marriage, or you can arrange the assets you have into an attractive alliance.

It’s just not new, is all I am saying. Not even close.

Men also used to beat their wives with no penalty.

And rape their slaves.

Those patterns are old too.

But in 2026, we have hopefully evolved. So women have options, like men have always had.

This! You’ll never get the $ over his kids. Don’t waste your time.
