Yes. And there are other days like this--PSAT was the same. Some MISA testing days. On AP days, the kids taking APs don't need to attend the half the day they'r enot in class. . Technically, at least some % of students need to be present for it to count as a schoolday but I've never heard that mentioned as a constraint. It may be why they often don't take attendance in the classes that meet on this day, though. (I've checked on some prior days and my kid wasn't marked absent when they didn't attend the class sessions in the afternoon.)
