At Northwood some AP teachers are doing reviews to get their classes caught up for the tests. Between SAT day and WIDA testing, kids will mostly make up for the snow days. Interesting to consider how this day would be counted under the instructional hours vs. days calculation. Would this be 6 instructional hours even though there's nothing for non-juniors to do in the morning?
Yes. And there are other days like this--PSAT was the same. Some MISA testing days. On AP days, the kids taking APs don't need to attend the half the day they'r enot in class. . Technically, at least some % of students need to be present for it to count as a schoolday but I've never heard that mentioned as a constraint. It may be why they often don't take attendance in the classes that meet on this day, though. (I've checked on some prior days and my kid wasn't marked absent when they didn't attend the class sessions in the afternoon.)
