I would avoid Paris.

For whatever reason, that city seems to attract terrorists…and the crown Prince of Iran was apparently in Paris yesterday during his interview on 60 Minutes.

It's fine. No one is going to target an airplane.

Well you might want to leave the DC area then because he has lived here for decades.

There are some nice caves in Kentucky that will probably be safe....for now.

I’m the pp you are snarkily responding to.

Let me explain: my husband and I both thought it was interesting that the interview was conducted in Paris. Presumably he was encouraged to leave DC for his own safety.

I’m far from a nervous Nelly, but I am very concerned about my safety in DC. I live in the burbs but commute to an area in DC that could easily be targeted.

Despite being a lifelong liberal, I know that terrorists most definitely entered the US during the Biden Admin. There are sleeper cells, and there are random crazies that have been inculcated thanks to misinformation social media campaigns. It isn’t silly to think about your safety in DC and other areas now—including major cities like Paris. Tourist areas are easy targets. And like I said, Paris seems to have attracted terrorists. Simply put: they walk among the locals, and who knows where or when anything might happen?

I personally wouldn’t enjoy visiting major tourist areas in Paris now. YMMV

PP just needs to hire a taster to make sure they aren't being poisoned. Who knows where or when it might happen

9/11 was fake news. All of it was cooked up by AI deepfakes and MAGA in order to keep the democrats from seizing power.

France's national terrorist alert warning (in French) is at the highest level. Expect high-level security nationwide, including at schools, places of worship, shopping centres and landmarks. Terrorists could target transport hubs, tourist areas, music and cultural events, festivals, shopping areas, the LGBTQIA+ community, sporting events and other public areas. Be cautious around locations known to be targets. Attacks could be indiscriminate and could occur anywhere without warning. There have been several attacks in France in recent years.

That is directly from France—not another country.

If you follow the news and migration patterns, France has a lot of radicalized people living in the country.

I am not changing my plans, but do I think there’s higher risk? Yes.

I'm flying out tonight. Not ideal timing but not worried about terrorism yet. France does have significant internal problems with its Muslim population but somehow I think this Iranian situation is different. The Iranian diaspora is educated and liberal and hates the Ayatollah. There's no real love between Iran and the rest of the Middle East. Or maybe it's famous last words.
