Worried about American airlines being targeted in the next few weeks. Is it safe to travel to the UK and Scotland?

Trump has put the crosshairs on Americans, everywhere. You’re flight will probably be fine, but overall the world at large is much less safer today than it was a couple days ago.

I’m honestly more worried about being stabbed or shot at the local convenience store

Or on 495.

My family are expats in the EU and my Dad's a dual citizen. People understand many Americans hate Trump. As long as you aren't wearing Trump merch or cheering in his claims to Greenland, you'll be fine.

The RAF base on Cyprus was bombed. Retaliation for allowing the US to use its base.

I’d say the UK is a target just as much as the US.

Agree. OP, I say take your flight. Nowhere is safer today, than it was a couple days ago.

Hopefully you didn’t vote for the carnival barker, who claimed to be a master deal maker and would be able to prevent more wars in the Middle East.

What do you mean safe? You mean is your safety guaranteed? No, of course it isn’t. There could be a bomb on your plane and you could go down over the ocean in a stream of smoke and screams. You could be machine-gunned in the airport. You could choke on a scone.

If you have lived your life with integrity, and have good insurance, you should have no fear of death.

So does this mean travel to London should be reconsidered? Asking truthfully-we are supposed to leave for a UK/Ireland trip next week.

I don’t know how you can expect a definitive answer. If you are scared then don’t go.

There could be stuff here in the US especially DC and big cities, look at the Austin situation today. I think everywhere is less safe. I don't think your trip is worse than anything else.

We reconsidered over antisemitism. Thanks Trump!

We are weighing the pros/cons of a similar decision to travel to Europe next week. Any insider perspective on actual increased risk traveling through Europe?

Yes. Come on, OP, live your life. The threads about travel to Jordan or Egypt at least are legitimate. Yours? Not so much.
