They've been infested with APEs who don't even have kids in APS and are trying to push their anti-public school agenda.

While I seriously doubt this- you do illustrate the problem with the current system. Its super easy with anyone for an ax to grind to seize control of one of these committees, and suck up staff resources.

At least one of the APE guys on the math committee doesn’t have kids in APS and writes MAGA propaganda about schools on a RW blog.

Why is he on an APS committee when his kids are not in APS?

His kids are probably in pre-k. Many parents like to get involved before their kids begin at APS.

I'm on the math committee and have no idea who you are talking about. Its a great committee full of thoughtful people.

Love how he claims to be a Dem when he was in bed with Youngkin Admin.

Funny how the Youngkin admin featured a so called Dem to quote.

No - his kids are older. His daughter is the same year as mine.

Because APS has no spine. They have to get rid of committees altogether to get rid of the infestation.

I have seen this too. It's awful. But still I'm torn because I have seen some committees do good things too. As with everything else it depends on the parents who are on them. Bad when it's a lobbying group pushing its own agenda instead of acting for the good of the schools. But sometimes really good and needed, like with ELA for literacy.

Yes, it's disgusting how they've spoiled these channels that parents have used to make positive change - all for their own, selfish political agenda.

Possibly

When he was pushing RW propaganda in his earlier Bacon posts he just said "parent of two school-age children in Arlington County, Virginia". They were in private school at the time.

and before anyone says we can't talk about him or his kids, he is putting himself out there publicly by writing a blog and being quoteed in articles where he represents publicly he's the parent of APS students. so we can talk about that.

He was also Miranda Turner's campaign manager

Which recommendations from the math committee are you mad about?

They aren’t, they just can’t stand the idea that anyone who isn’t lockstep with Arlington Dems has a voice in anything.
