Actually, history has always favored bigots. But more to the point, it's not just about this recording. If there is other evidence, how were those obtained? Finally, regarding what OP quoted: most business owners would not care less if presented with it in private. In public, if this was posted on their organization's social media, perhaps, if the face is unmistakably recognizable on the video. If it's just audio, there's too much room to wiggle out of it. OP might find it worth their while to publish stuff that was illegally obtained (the stuff other than the legal recording)... but they need to be careful in covering their tracks. The owner can do illegal things to them as well, if they suspect OP. |
Have you been living under a rock for the ast decade? HGTV just CANNED their biggest actress because she uttered the N word-ONCE- during a taped recording. If you think corporate America is taking a multi million dollar hit on the chin because some bimbo had one utterance, but some DC property firm with military ties will be fine with the owner being on tape multiple times disparaging high ranking military officers as 'dykes' then you are truly delusional. At the very least, they can be certain that pipeline will be gone. It's very probable a guy like this violated fair housing all the time. There are a gazillion regulatory groups in VA (if thats where this took place) for airing these crimes. Start with NVAR, NAR, VA IG, state licensing ethics board, their E&O insurance, etc. Dude is cooked if OP wants. |

In the late 90's, I was at a job where I was harassed, mistreated, undervalued, etc. It sounds similar to you, OP. I had a cousin who was a Fairfax County police officer and I asked him to 'run' the names of some of the higher ups at my employer.
The accountant had, like, 6 different liens against her house for unpaid taxes and judgements in civil court. Defaults on car notes, near mortgage default, etc. Trainwreck. This was way pre-internet so it was like gold. Anyone can get this suff now for free and 15 minutes on the web. Anyway, I mentioned it during a performance review and didnt you know..... I was offered a 15K raise. Which was a sh*t ton at the time. Waht I'm saying is, there are lots of ways to play this. Leverage your dirt. Does the person running credit or handling invoices have any financial crimes in their past? That is the stuff clients will actually care about. Most people are so desensitized to race baiting, bigotry these days that you have to draw attention to what they actually care about. Their money. |
Vengeance is never a good look. |
| Is this NEST property management? |
I use a mgmt company and would be very interested to know that the owner is keeping their skimming percent (and increasing rents with the COL and other measures and keeping those increases) whilst decreasing their employees salaries. If these are all facts- fact, salaries cut, fact 401K gone, fact employee ratio to building crazy increased- how is that slander. I would want to know this. |
| I’d wait 4-5 months after leaving but yes then absolutely. |
| My guess is this wouldn’t be nearly as effective as you fantasize it would be and you would be easily dismissed as a disgruntled ex-employee with an axe to grind. Because you are. |
|
I did this 4 years ago big time. Literally walked out.
They called last week and want me back. |
|
Op, this is what the work is and either you quit or stay and maybe negotiate bigger salary. :Leave in my opinion.
The kind of work you are doing doesn't need too much skills so that's why replacement is easier and salary deflation happens. |

Get a new job. Don’t give him notice.
Nuke him Let chips fall where they may and then use the fallout as an excuse not to come back just like everyone else will |
Or wait a 6months or so after leaving in case it doesn’t work |
|
This is unlikely to have the result you want. Although morally there's something to be said for sunshine as a disinfectant.
Find another job. Like Ivana in the Clairol commercial - looking good is rhe best revenge. |
| What goes around, comes around. Take the high road, give your 2 weeks notice, do whatever your job is during those 2 weeks and leave on a good note. Be a professional, even if those around you are d*ckheads. |
| I don't think bombing will have the effect you hope it will, and it could make you look look like the crazy one or give you unintended consequences. |
