Here's a different take: You send the email and management takes you seriously. And points out the fact that you never said anything about it until you became disgruntled. If you knew of wrongdoing and didn't report it, this could backfire greatly.

This is a common misconception. You are under no obligation to 'report' abuse at the moment. The vast majority of people need a paycheck to support their families so they endure the abuse for their children's security.

Under your rationale, child abuse victims have no basis for complaining if they don't speak up the first time they're raped.

PP. I think your child abuse analogy doesn't really apply here. Very different psychological impacts, causes, and legal implications.

For OP though, why would you make all the effort to even record this guy and sit on it. Management will probably wonder the same thing. With all the crappy moves they've done, will they even care? Like another poster said, this stuff is glorious in movies, not real life.

Look up Clover Management in New York- both for the lawsuit by the former employee alleging racial discrimination by the company/owner and for the relatively meek fallout.

Going nuclear rarely achieves the detonator’s goals but, if implemented through a lawsuit, may provide some monetary payout (with likely an end to your career in that industry).
