Claremont colleges

I don’t really understand the question. My kid went to Pitzer because he wanted to major in Environmental analysis and do the CASA program. He took classes at Pomona and all the other schools. He had friends from all schools. He never experienced any issues related to “pecking order.”

The Scrippsies are often looked down on. My sister hated it there. Google “Scrippsies look down upon”.

Would WASP for in at any of them?

There’s a homophobic poster here whose relative hated Scripps but IRL the campus is all good vibes.

This article may be helpful: if the survey of students is to be believed, Pitzer is very, very liberal; followed by Harvey Mudd; Claremore and Pomona fairly similar (at a 4-5 to 1 liberal to conservative ratio). There are SOME selective colleges that are more evenly balanced, but not a ton.

Is Pitzer the most liberal?

They’re all very liberal- even CMC. If you care about that sort of thing, look at W&L. The order isn’t really existent as much as the major.

CMC is best for economics, government, religious studies/philosophy, and history.
Harvey Mudd is best for engineering, computer science, and physics
Pomona is best for mathematics, neuroscience, biology/chemistry.
Scripps is for the humanities and art
Pitzer for Environmental Analysis/Sociology/anthropology

I wouldn’t consider these schools if you are Jewish. They all have antisemitic environments.

My son is at Pitzer. He is having a great time and receiving an amazing education. He has taken classes at all five schools. He has friends at all five schools. He plays for a club sport team. Amazing experience.

Claremont has an outstanding amount of resources for Jewish students. I’d avoid jumping to bs you hear online:

Have you never been inside of any of the hidings? Never seen someone so far off

Dd is at Scripps— fun fact it’s the only one of the 5Cs that gives merit and she got significant merit. Was admitted to other Claremont schools. She’s very social and has many friends at CMC and Pomona in addition to Scripps and has loved the classes she’s taken at CMC and Pitzer in addition to Scripps. She’s planning to major at CMC in public policy. Pomona and Mudd are the most selective but the kids really all hang together and are in many cross consortium clubs. It’s a wonderful atmosphere.

They should have one app for all of them. But let’s be real, would anyone from DC really go to these colleges? I’m not sure if they hold any weight on the east coast and there are plenty of SLAC’s that don’t require a flight.

I would only apply to Pomona. That said, even Pomona doesn't really have a name outside the US.

Not many schools do.

They’re completely different schools and would not agree to a single application lol.

Your second comment is mostly bs.

One app for all and you get admitted to the best fit or rejected from them all.
