39F and dating a 48 year old man

I don’t think he’s old-fashioned because of his age, more because that’s the sort of person he is. Focus less on age differences and more on who he is as a person.

OP here, I understand but there’s a huge difference between early 40s and late 40s

Nah. Big difference between 30 and 40, but not so much the next decade.

Agreed. You aren't that much younger than him, OP. It might be more of the world you live in vs his world, and having nothing to do with age.

? Nope, not really. But it sounds like you see yourself as his hot young thing. 🤣

Of course the bigger the age gap, the more likely you will be out of sync when it comes to retirement plans. And you are increasing your (already increased) odds of having to serve as his caretaker in the future (and having no one to care for you in old age).

A lot of Marines have “old fashioned” views on gender roles.

That doesn’t strike me as “hot.”

27 years old. After that, you are expected to act like an adult.

At my (small town) 20th high school reunion last year, two classmates were grandmothers at 38. OP has some fantasy of herself as a winsome girlie.

The gap of experiences between you two might seem large due to having different backgrounds, but it’s certainly not because of your age difference. A big age difference is +15 years and after you are 40 no age difference is insurmountable.

+1 this doesn't seem like a notable age gap at these ages
