Told we are waitlisted for our top choice school

I am guessing it is brearley. Had a friend at the the top preschool by reputation on UES get lead on by Brearley, only to get a waitlist. PSD said she didn’t know what happened. This was 2 or 3 years ago.

I've seen all the girls schools flip flop in the days leading up to notification. Friend who was "in" at Chapin is suddenly in at Spence and waitlisted at Chapin. Another who was "in" at Spence is waitlisted at all three and gets into Brearley through the waitlist. I could tell many more stories-- these schools trade.

I have never seen or heard for Trinity. I have seen Dalton, but not as regularly as just those three schools with each other.

For OP - it seems kind of weird and unprofessional that your PSD would tell people that they recommended a specific child over yours.

This is obviously a worst-case scenario - are you with a feeder PS? I feel as though most of the connected schools would really try hard to avoid this...

Our PSD didn’t as that, I found out from someone else. But also not great to hear that.

Not from Brearley. They are still not giving definite yes or no answers, but making clear that they are interested in certain kids.

We applied to more than 2 schools. We applied to 8. A mid of co-ed and SS

We applied to more than 2 schools. We applied to 8. A mid of co-ed and SS

Why do they recommend applying to 8-10 if you almost never get in without a FC letter? Does anyone actually get more than 1-2 admits?
