Q2 Grades

I can see the assignments in Parentvue but there is no score/grade. The class does not show up in Canvas so there's no course to go look for grades. At this point, will his grade just be a surprise on his report card?

Wonder if it's the same teacher. Sigh.

who should my child contact regarding the following situation?
child had a 95 percent in a class as of Friday grade book submissions (no missing assignments showing) , then on Monday after the quarter ended, the long term substitute teacher added in 2 assignments from early Dec, along with many others apparently long over due to be included. Two of these Dec assignments are now suddenly created in the list of assignments and graded as 0/6 (all task assignments). They were language class weeks of work that the student turns in every friday. My child is so upset because they know they turned in every weekly assignment every Friday or the following Monday when ill. These are physical papers not online.
Even if a student had forgotten to turn something in a month and a half ago the student should not be hearing about it being missing and the grade of 0/6 on an all task for the *first time* after the quarter has ended by suddenly seeing it included in their grade the weekend after the quarter has ended, at which point there is no way to turn it in for partial credit or if they did turn it in and the teacher made a mistake, to remind the teacher that they did turn it in on time in the first place so the teacher can look for the paper.
This brought my kids Q2 grade down from a 95 to an 89, and they are very upset. Definitely not following the new grading policy or any sort of common sense! my child reached out to the resource teacher on Monday via email. Anything else you would suggest they do?

That is a difficult situation. I tell all my students to take photos of all handwritten assignments and e-mail them to me as a backup because people are human and we can sometimes make mistakes and lose things. Sure it means I get lots of e-mails but I just put them in a folder and only need to go in there if there is a discrepancy. With that said, it definitely does not seem right that assignments from 2 months ago are now just showing up. Were they in Canvas the whole time but just recently sync'd to Synergy? I know plenty of teachers who operate like that where they sync their gradebook like once a month.
