HS Swim - Districts this weekend?

Stinks b/c I bet one or both of the counties will be closed Friday and not looking great Saturday knowing how things are in this area. So my $$ is on Monday.

Even on non-school days FCPS makes a call for activities. (Happened this past weekend where all activities on FCPS ground after a certain time were cancelled on Saturday and the buildings were closed all day Sunday). Arlington County is the same AFAIK and the pools are in the school buildings.

Not that it helps here, but chiming in that indoor track Districts for NoVA is also scheduled for Thursday and Friday. So there are multiple sports waiting to see what FCPS and APS decide regarding activities tomorrow.

Patriot plan is to hold it normally. If it snows Saturday to have finals the following week.

Really? timed finals on Friday? The prospect of a storm on saturday night has nose dived. That aside, i actually don't like the time suck of back to back evenings. If they could pull it off logistically, I'd prefer morning prelims and finals at night.

Everyone only swims once, like a standard dual meet. There will not be circle seeding, and the winner could be in heat 1 at the end.

Thank you for explaining and I got an email from my kid’s team coach confirming things.


FFX rec centers are open today. Seems weird to compress to just Friday at this point instead of doing the normal Friday schedule and compressing to Saturday.

We just got an email from our coach saying that they changed the decision, and they have to be done by 6 PM on Friday night so it’s looking like they may run time trials Friday morning. I don’t know when they’ll make a decision on this, but I hope it’s ASAP as working parents need to adjust our work schedules if it’s during the day.
