OP is bitter. Kids don't care. |
Many of us just *don't care* about scores for a meaningless pre-SAT. Its not even the actual SAT. The kids who prepped for PSAT can get that level score. And why would I care what other people's kids scored on a pre-SAT? Let me know if your kid actually achieves something difficult or interesting. Test prep? Meh. |
So what? That’s fair to be a little upset about that. |
But it’s ok for people to care too. Schools don’t keep track of class rank or publicly share honor roll students anymore. There is literally no other academic recognitions that are shared. I don’t see people complaining when all district sports honorees are announced. I’m happy to celebrate all of it. Excellence of any kind is good. |
More likely, you either resent higher-achieving kids and look for any opportunity to piss in their Cheerios, or your kid was a NSMF and you want them to remain the focus of attention. If you didn't care, you'd ignore the thread, but here you are. |

Gatehouse is proving itself increasingly incompetent. |
|
I think giving praise to the top 3% is good.
As a PP said, we give praise to athletes who place. But, the topic of this is that FCPS put out a poorly researched and checked list. Leaving some schools off entirely is beyond incompetent. |
This. And see the thread about the Failed Principal to Central Office pipeline. |
| How hard is it to publish a list LOL. This school district is so bad |
What a drama queen! Are you the same with your family? Calm down. |
It's not a big deal but some employers offer scholarships for commended students. |
|
This is a huge deal, given all the bad national press FCPS received in past years for botching National Merit Scholarship finalists:
