Yes, he is stupid. But he also has an underlying personality disorder which, when combined with age-related mental decline, is getting worse. There's so much stigma and confusion around mental illness compared to other health conditions that no one is calling it like it is. He shows us every day that he is not well mentally. Why can't people see it?

You're giving his supporters the benefit of the doubt, and you shouldn't. MAGAats are happy when they see ridiculous statements from Trump - to them the entire "normal" international system is corrupt, and needs to be torn down. In fact, for them almost every institution deserves to be torn down except for the military, border patrol, and their own Church/neighborhood/family. It's an extreme form of nihilism, as they've stopped believing in the very concept of institutions larger than the tribal unit.

But he's a brilliant salesman. He got millions of Americans to vote for him. He's now demented and declining, but even in his decline, his sales skills were working and he got votes.

He's not stupid. He's got a personality disorder that's worsening as his dementia gets worse. Usually people who get Alzheimers get nasty as their minds go. Most of those people don't have access to the nuclear codes, but this man does.
