The thing that is most bothersome is that people BELIEVE it! If Fox et al started to say the Earth was flat, I think viewers would start believing that too. |
That is so true! My husband believes Fox is fair and balanced, I'm starting to think he believes everything they tell the viewers. |
Maybe you weren't around in the early 80s or were in diapers, but when I was in junior high, I saw a lot of images on TV showing the remnants of bombings by the Irish Republican Army. The IRA had also blown up cars in front of schools on a school day. They are/were Christians. I also read (maybe in a Tom Clancy novel) or in the paper, that the Muslim extremists learned the art of bomb making from the IRA. While in modern times, we associate terrorism with Islam/Muslims, not too long ago, the terrorists looked like the majority of the US population - white Protestant Christians. |
On the bright side.,.. When the Muslim extremists strike .... It will be in a city and most of the victims will be liberals. This can work out because the liberals appear to rather die than fight ... And it will also increase the conservative voting margin....so there's really no sense in bickering about it... Everybody can get what they want! Yay. |
The IRA were/are Papists, not Protestants. |
thanks for the correction, but they are still Christian. |
Yes, there are several silver linings. A Muslim can simply say "boo" and nearly every conservative in the country will piss his pants, thereby stimulating the diaper industry. |
Yes indeed!....I say we stop monitoring extremist Muslims and speed up the process!!! |
Says a poster who likely never wore a uniform. |
Another who has not worn the uniform |
I think you missed the point of the comment. Steele is not advocating sending troops in to foreign wars to fight terrorists. Therefore your reply makes no sense. |
Yeah Dick Cheney and George Bush could hardly wait to join the military when they were young! Ha ha! They're my heroes! ![]() |
Then there is the history of Catholics in New York: the riots against the building of an early Catholic church, and the Catholic kids pulled out of public schools because of the Protestant indoctrination. Religious freedom has never been automatic. |
How is it that in 2008 they were all talking about Bill Ayers and the Weathermen, and somehow they completely forgot that by 2010? Which is it, were they lying about the Weathermen or lying now?
Don't forget the sarin gas attacks in the Tokyo subway. That was Aum Shinrikyo. We also have to remember the Marxist groups like Baader Meinhof and the Japanese Red Army. Baader Meinhof only disbanded about ten years ago. And Colombia has FARC, which at least our government considers to be a terrorist group. Then you have here in the U.S., the KKK, Aryan Nation, the skinheads, etc. Maybe some wouldn't call it terrorism, but bombing black churches and lynching people sounds like it to me. |
You find a bright side to the idea of "anyone's" death? I guess that makes you both sick and stupid. The Americans who are actually dying are military, and they are overwhelmingly conservative (75% or so). George Bush's two wars have killed off and disabled many, many more Americans than any terrorist ever has. |
